Athletics

On the 13th of October it was athletics day for Pt England school. Pt England school had 4 different teams and they aren Hinemoana, Hokule’a, Te Aurere, and Hikianalia.

My favourite activity from athletics was the relays because my team worked really well together and we helped each other and cheered for each other as we went. The activity I found challenging was the sprints and the tagger war.I found tagger war hard easy in the first 2 rounds but when we versed Hikianalia and Te Aurere they were really hard to beat because they we strong and they worked together as a team to win.

Finally after all that running and doing the activities it was lunch time and we finally had some rest and had something to eat. As soon as the bell rang it was time to go back to have some more fun at athletics.It was time to do high jump and I really enjoyed high jump because all we did was have fun while jumping on the mat and enjoying athletics while we can.

When athletics was over I couldn’t stop thinking about how much fun everyone had. What I enjoyed about athletics was working as a team with the year 7 girls, participating in the activities, I also enjoy myself and I enjoyed having fun at athletics and I enjoy being a year 7.

Navy Band

On Friday the 23rd of October the New Zealand navy band performed at Pt England school.The navy band’s first performance was 20th century music and after they played the 20th century music they went straight to acting and the movies they acted to was spongebob, star wars and Top secret.Once their acting was over a man came out and started squirting us with water and it was so hilarious because everyone was getting wet and started screaming to get even more wet. Once that was over a man from the band was reading us a story but he sang it to us which was fun because we all like singing.

The Navy band was singing their last song and the whole school stood up to support them by singing with them and we sang Roar. After that was over it was time to get ready to go back to our home classes and we all had so much fun singing with the band. Once it was time to do fitness we all ran past the navy band people and showing off to them how fast we can run.

Manaiakalani

Are you a part of the Manaiakalani family? Well Manaiakalani is a place where people enjoy watching movies and experiencing what other schools do compared to the school you go to. Usually every year my school “Pt England” go with “Tamaki College” but this year we are going with a school that has never been to one of these before. Which is “Ruapotaka primary and intermediate school”.

Some schools usually just make 10-15 movies but our school makes over 20 movies because it is based on each class room. So every year their school principals or teachers pick 2 people from their school to present in front of everyone to show and tell what their movie will be about. And my class presenters was pt england street. So  Manaiakalani has always been held in one place which is in “Sylvia Park at the cinemas”.

Google expidietion

Tuesday November 24th we had google expedition come to our class. It was interesting to have a go because it was a cardboard expedition and it was 4D. What is 4D?  It is when you think you are in the game, or map, and a Phone was inside the box. We are going to explore in the sea or the moon. I have a game version called Oculus Rift which is not Cardboard Goggles. What game i play it is Mine craft . I hope see one.

So back to exploring. I enjoyed the experience of seeing the images through the cardboard goggles. I was frustrating that you couldn’t move around and had to stay in one spot.  i feel like i was handed a big Mac  because of the box goggles.  

School Holiday's

In the holiday I was playing minecraft on my PS3 and I was playing online  with Pehso and Jazzgirl. And who was Jazzgirl it was Kat and my name on minecraft is johnking and my Skin is assassin's creed. Have you played minecraft before? I’m going to talk to you about minecraft.

Minecraft is a game where you dig (mine) and build craft different kinds of 3D blocks within a large world of varying terrains and habitats. In this world the sun rises and sets as you go about your work, gathering materials and making tools. There is rain and the occasional lightning storm,and animals that you can tame farm or use for food. Depending on which mode you’re playing in, you might also need to fight for your survival against hunger,danger and bad guys.

Today Mrs Moala showed her maths class a picture that her friend posted on Facebook. My maths class had to look at the picture and find out the mistakes the person who created the sign made. We found out that the grocery store gave the wrong prices to customers and instead of placing it where the avocados were, they placed it where the capstans were. On the sign it says Hass Avocado but it is red capsicums and the price $5 it was mast to be $4

If you don't  no how to save money here is some ideas. put your money in a bank or savings account  and if you don’t have one put our money in piggy bank. and hid your money.now cheap stuff and keeping to the budget don't spend all of our money in one day and don’t buy expensive things.

Becane if you spend all of our money then you have no money. And half you spend all of our money you will be poor and you can’t buy food of our family. saving our money they you can buy More.

And if you don’t no how to saving our money giving it to our parents so we don’t over spend the money.you can save power to but you non’t leam

the power on and turn off all the plugs. And uses smaller amount of hot water so you don’t have lower water and hot water       

 

  

Reality Trip

On the 31th july we had a task to do we had to watch the T'v On the show they were 5 new Zealanders. And they names was Anna Stephanie kieran Stevie peter And they want to Philippines to do working. what they was doing was Hard drive coil I was shocking for me was that the hard drive coil stick was to small for the coil and They never d took there jod serious because they were not listening. I learn tahat when you work you that is seriously.

On term 3 the seniors had a task to do.we had to do a shopping list for you to survive from Saturday to next Sunday  and when we finish we had to go and shop online on the countdown website.it was kind of tricking because we had to pick a number of money.I  got $250 so I was allowed to buy some more but I saved it for me to by take-away.

Today For Zeal Zone, Team 5 began ''Tinkering, Tools and Toys.'' Our class spent time brainstorming ways that we could make Pt England a better place to be. I am in a group could Shelford, and Ben. Our Group Name Is Game Freakers.

This term, Team 5 has been learning all about ww1 and ANZAC. we were given a mission to create a HyperStudio animation that included the development and  poppy, and a personal WW1 monument.

Louis Gordon and Marcus Winter

Mr Burt introduced Louis Gordon and Marcus Winter.Mr Burt said to us " Andrew Patterson collects people and connects people."

Marcus Winter, talked to us about how he got bounced in every job he applied for there was only one job who accepted him. Marcus Winter went from doing his arts in the streets his art in a massive ship. He talked to us about when he was little  he was the slowest person in his class to finish his handwriting. Marcus was put into this class with other children, he thought he was brainy but that class was for people who were slow at handwriting. Marcus Winter showed us a dance the song he danced to was Uptown Funk then he told us to "stand up."

Louis Gordan Latty talked to us about how we could record a basketball game, he showed us his basketball game from last night, but it was in cartoon characters. It was really exciting to see Louis get a goal for his team, everybody in his team were really awesome they keep getting the ball of the other team, but the other team keeps on getting free shots and some of the shots didn't go in that's a relief.

In world war 1 there was gas, Canada was the alone country that did not have gask mask for fighting and living. Every other county did because they had invited it by science. Back then they didn’t have planes, they had horses, for listening out for danger they had used a big and huge horn that is called a war horn. Some soldiers were forced to go back home for 3 weeks and return back.

Talking about gas, When there were no gas masks some soldier’s would die from inside their lungs well drowning with a sort of liquid. It was a global war. Britain was the most brutalised country which means not humble or respectful. They were the savager with the treaty of not kindness. Germany had been sold out by the polateshions . The thing with world war 1 is that it had become mercher and more distributed.

In the 19 century, they did not have in technology like highly loaded planes or trackers to track people that they were against and even phones for taking selfies, so they would have to travel on horses to state their marks for war. It was painful for those in the 19 century. The reason why they travelled back in planes is because they had figure out science and technology. They were impressed of what they had done to a boring piece of medal.

The reason why they made guns and all those deadly stuff is because, how would they fight, what would they use to kill or to wound people, how could they kill from far distance. They also create technology because things were hard for travelling and preparing attacks in the 19 century.  Technology helped them because of what was coming for them when they didn’t know and they also need technology because, they would have to track or hear out for danger.

Beside guns and harmful and death things, me and my partner think that they would of used metal fences in world war 1 and also rope traps to capture, not harm. We also think, that they used tracking devices on boats and ungraded tanks. What do you think technology was like in the 19 century? Please leave a comment and try to answer the question!

HI my name is johnlee I am a  student at pt england school and I Am writing  to appreciate what you two have done for our  country during world  war 2 .

tragedy and short notice that the war spread all over the islands. All of you guys were very smart of what you did and your  younger brothers joined the WWII.When you had to beat them up just so they didn't have to contribute in the war. And good for you for trying your best !I am so terribly sorry that the Germans invaded the islands.

I also heard of the really gruesome things that happened to you guys like when your leg got shot and you arm was hanging on by your skin. Poor Guys !And I also heard that your father was a priest and you said to him “Father, I am not going to die” And that was really heart warming !

sorry you were interned also your uncle and your lots for your father died when you were very young. you part german but born in tango and raised by a tongan mother then joining the New Zealand army forces but then interned is really though when a person is partly from the enemy's culture. Very sorry the commanders did not understand. I trust you now because you have proven your rights to be part of the NZ army forces as well as the british. I grant you your freedom to go back to Tonga. Happy sailing.

Polyfest

The year 7,8 went to Polyfest, if you don't no what Polyfest is .It is The world's largest Maori and Pacific Island festival that kicked off in Auckland yesterday. Around 90,000 people are expected to go Polyfest in Manukau Sports Bowl,celebrating the city's diverse makeup through music and dance. About sixty-two secondary schools take part each year. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the popular event. Forty Alex O'Hara was at the event launch this morning, where she met Samoan stage coordinators Mele Ah Sam and Toesulu Brown, as well as Polyfest director Theresa Howard.
